Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy may be the answer to chronic muscle pain or tension that does not respond well to other treatments or therapies. Trigger points are commonly referred to as muscle “knots”, but not every knot that triggers or refers pain to another area of the body is a trigger point -- although it may certainly feel like it!

An active trigger point can cause headaches, numbness and tingling, pain or soreness in the neck and back, sciatica-like symptoms, muscle and abdominal pain, or muscle stiffness.

Once a trigger point is identified, deactivation is achieved through gradual pressure, movement therapy, and stretching. The person receiving the therapy may feel a direct connection between the area being worked on and the site of their pain or tightness.

Trigger Point Therapy is highly effective! If it is the right treatment for you, you will notice substantial improvements within a few days following your first session. I typically recommend some specific home use exercises to maintain the results.
